1. What data we collect
- Account: your email address.
- Work entries: titles, descriptions, and dates you provide.
- Journal entries: the text you provide.
- Imported data: resume content and LinkedIn CSV data you choose to import.
- Usage: anonymised product analytics and error monitoring via Microsoft Azure Application Insights.
- AI processing: your entries are processed by Azure OpenAI for skill extraction and document generation. This runs in Microsoft Azure data centres in the EU (Sweden Central), with document text/OCR extraction in the US (East US) — so this data is processed outside India. It is not retained by the AI service beyond the API call.
2. Why we collect it
- To generate tailored resumes and career documents.
- To track your career progress over time.
- To improve the product, using anonymised analytics only.
3. Data storage
- Stored in MongoDB on Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB, hosted in the Azure Central India region.
- Uploaded résumés and voice recordings are processed in memory only and are not stored or retained after processing.
- Your account data is retained until you delete your account.
4. Your rights (DPDP)
- Access: you can request a copy of your data at any time — email hello@roleora.com.
- Erasure: deleting your account permanently deletes all of your data.
- Correction: you can edit any entry at any time.
