1. What data we collect

Account: your email address.
Work entries: titles, descriptions, and dates you provide.
Journal entries: the text you provide.
Imported data: resume content and LinkedIn CSV data you choose to import.
Usage: anonymised product analytics and error monitoring via Microsoft Azure Application Insights.
Analytics, only if you accept: Microsoft Clarity records how screens are used, as heatmaps, usage counts and session replays with all text masked. It does not record what you type, your résumé or journal content, or your voice, and it never runs in the interview room or the journal. It sets the cookies _clck and _clsk and sends the data to Microsoft, which acts as our processor under Microsoft's privacy statement. We tag a session with a short one-way hash of your account id and your plan, never your email or name. Decline in the banner, or turn it off any time in Settings, Privacy.
AI processing: your entries are processed by Azure OpenAI for skill extraction and document generation. This runs in Microsoft Azure data centres in the EU (Sweden Central), with document text/OCR extraction in the US (East US) — so this data is processed outside India. It is not retained by the AI service beyond the API call.

To generate tailored resumes and career documents.
To track your career progress over time.
To improve the product, using aggregated analytics. Session replays run only if you accept them.

Stored in MongoDB on Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB, hosted in the Azure Central India region.
Uploaded résumés and voice recordings are processed in memory only and are not stored or retained after processing.
Your account data is retained until you delete your account.

Access: you can request a copy of your data at any time — email hello@roleora.com.
Erasure: deleting your account permanently deletes all of your data.
Correction: you can edit any entry at any time.
